Bring New Era

Would you please send the New Era with your student so that we can use it in class? It has articles in it that directly relate to Seminary.

Thanks.

Details: The Nitty Gritty

First of all, sorry your Valley V is so small. Please email me a better one! This was all I could find on Valley's website! Seminary is really like a class at school. This makes some things different than they are in Sunday School for instance. Tardies....yes, these are illegal in seminary. If you are more than 5 minutes late to seminary then you will be counted tardy. 4 tardies and you owe me a seminary detention. You and I will discuss what that means if it happens. Hopefully it won't ever happen. I do understand that some things will come up that will be out of your control. If this happens in connection with a tardy, just have your mom talk to me and we'll work it out. (last year they signed a legal contract :-) )

If you do not have school on that day, you do not have to come to seminary; and neither does anyone else! We'll get both Roosevelt and Valley's calendar's and compare.

Each Monday will be Mr. Chocolate Day and each Friday will be Mr. Potato Head Day. Since each of these days involves food we will need donations. These donations may be of the item itself or $ (which ever is easier for you.) I need to know your choice right away so I can make plans. Please email me directly the answer to this question: mtpercival@msn.com

I also hope that each family will provide birthday treats for the class on their child's birthday. If you have a summer birthday and still want to be remembered, go for your half birthday!
If you miss seminary for an extended period of time (more than your allowed 20%) please contact me regarding make ups. We will work this out on a one-on-one basis.
Please email me with any questions that I haven't addressed.

Welcome to Seminary!

Hello,
While no one likes getting up early, there is something neat about being part of a group of teenagers who will sacrifice something valuable (sleep) to learn more about the Savior. We all know that every day we face tough "enemies". Seminary is how the Lord protects the children he loves. Participating in class is how you gain the protection the Lord has provided for you. The only homework required is 10 minutes of scripture reading. We all could spend 10 minutes each day just reading while waiting somewhere or while driving in the car. The scriptures can be downloaded to your mp3 player. Just put on one book at a time.

Seminary will be held each school day beginning at 6:00 am. We will be finished at 6:40 am. Then you Valley students can go back to bed while us Roosevelt kids will be off to school! Don't be late! We will be meeting in the Primary room each morning. No slippers and no blankies, please.

Check back to this blog weekely to find more updates as the year moves forward.
